We pray that God will bless you in all that you put your hand to do. May He bless you in good health and in your purse. May He bless you in your relationships with others, giving you favor in the eyes of all people. As you believe, He will do these things.

Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit we are still counseling, teaching and preaching wherever God leads. He is daily using this ministry to bless others and we are blessed to be a part of His work. "We" includes you who pray for and financially support K.O.J.

This month's message is on God's healing power and how to receive it. First I will establish God's will concerning healing, and then I will report on what my wife, JoAnn, did when she needed to get well. We trust that this story will help you or someone you know.

Regardless of past teachings, it is not God's will for his children to be sick. A certain leper came before Jesus and God's will became evident. The Leper said, LORD if you are willing, You can make me clean. Then Jesus put out His hand and touched him, saying, I am willing, be cleansed. (Matthew 8:2-3). This is only one report of Jesus' will to heal the sick. As He went throughout the country He healed all who came to Him. By doing this, He revealed the personality of His Father, the "Great Physician." Finally, Jesus was bruised so that we may be healed (Re: Isa. 53:4; 55:5). When someone is miraculously healed, without the hands of man, it causes faith to rise up in others, and they believe on Jesus. The devil hates this.

When we are obedient to God's word, His blessings will pursue us until they overtake us. This includes freedom from infirmities and disease, curses which Jesus took upon Himself that we may be free. (Re: Gal. 3:10-13) The curses referred to in Galatians are the same curses recorded in Deuteronomy, 28, as you read about them focus on verses 21-29. Then rejoice in what Jesus did for you.

Because Jesus removed all the curses on our behalf, we know that He did not expect us to live with sickness and disease. This is why JoAnn, under the anointing of the Holy Spirit, was able make a stand when told that she had cancer. She fired back at the doctor, "I will not accept it, it does not belong to me and I will not have it." This may sound strange, but according to Jesus she spoke the truth.

When we found that my wife needed a miracle we fasted and prayed. She searched herself to be sure that there was no malice against anyone. She made sure that pride did not get in her way. We called on you and many others to join us in a specific prayer (Re: 1 Cor. 1:10). She called for our Pastor and other Elders in the body of Christ to anoint her with oil and pray (Re: James 5:14). We sought prayer from men and women who were anointed with the gift of healing (Re: 1 Cor. 12:9). They followed the example which was set by Jesus and the Apostles by laying their hands on her as they prayed (See Luke 4:40). She is consuming God's word and building her faith (Re: Rom 10:17). She is praising and thanking God (Re: Eph. 5:19-20). We are also confessing the scriptures concerning healing, knowing that God will honor His word. Through Isaiah, God said, So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. (Isaiah 55:11). We are trusting in and relying on what Jesus has said to us, and what he did for us.

During May, we took a five day trip to Daytona Beach, Florida, for the funeral of JoAnn's Uncle. His death was sad for the family, but near the end he was heard to say, "Hurry up Jesus." It would be wonderful if everyone could say this at the end of their life on earth. While in Daytona, we drove to, and attended the Orlando Christian Center, Bennie Henn's church. It was interesting that JoAnn was the only one present who had requested prayer. Pastor Sam Henn, Bennie's brother, told her that it was not by accident that she was there on that specific night. Then he and the congregation prayed authoritative prayers for her. Several times during pastor Henn's message he focused his eyes on JoAnn. Each time he spoke her name as he made special points. Isn't God good.

During the last week of May, we attended five Kenneth Hagin services in Jackson, Mississippi. Brother Hagin told of an event which took place in 1952. While he was praying, Jesus appeared to him in a vision. (This is scriptural, see Joel 2:28). In the vision, Jesus touched his hands and in reality they burned as if someone had laid coals upon them. Jesus told him that he was anointed to pray for the sick and by their faith they would recover. Joann said, "When Brother Hagin touched me it was like a lighten bolt had hit me." Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever (Re: Heb. 13:8). He was the healer when He walked upon the earth and He is the healer today.

We appreciate the encouragement and love shown after you received our May, 93, newsletter, the one telling that JoAnn needed prayer. Many phone calls, notes and letters have been received. Your reassurance can be summed up in an excerpt from one letter. This came from a friend who pastors a church in Ackerman, MS.

Bless the LORD. O my soul; and forget not all His benefits: Who forgivers all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases. (Psalms 103:2-3).

Now, because JoAnn has done all those things listed above and because her energy has returned and is greater than before, she knows that God has healed her. You can join with us in thanking Him for setting her free from all sickness and disease.

We must never give up God's blessings because of what we think with our carnal minds. Always believe Him no matter what you see or hear. We are not to be hearers only of God's word, but doers of His word (James 1:23). Therefore, one must override the flesh to receive from God.

Let no one deceive himself. If any one among you thinks that he is wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise. For the wisdom of this world is folly with God. For it is written, "He catches the wise in their own craftiness. (Romans 3:18-19, R.S.V.)

A work of deception abounds in the body of Christ. It is cast upon all who are not firm in their knowledge of God's word or have doubt about His will and/or ability. This has cheated many Christians out of God's miraculous healing. We must remember to stay positive as God is the POSITIVE. He is the yes and amen. Therefore, we must be firm when we say, "Yes, I believe." Because of grace, God sometimes heals through our ignorance, but he does not expect us to stay unenlightened and live with thoughts which oppose His word.

For lack of knowledge many people loose God's blessings. God said, My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you from being priests for me; (Hosea 4:6). This message is still alive. Today, some people who lack knowledge pray, "God, if it is your will, heal ...." This could be habit or these people do not know what God's will is, even though it was plainly defined by Jesus. We must not ever try to make God work in our understanding, but accept His entire word as truth. Many times we hear someone say, "I know that God can heal, but ...." As they add words of earthly wisdom. Is it possible that we try to ride on both sides of the fence, the dividing line between God's wisdom and Man's wisdom? This type thinking can cause confusion and God is not the author of such.

Christians are in spiritual warfare (See Eph 6:10-12), so, we must learn and use all the ingredients involved in God's healing program. Remember, angels are at warfare in order to serve you. (See Heb. 1:13-14; Dan. 10:12-13).
