Sometimes we have God-given dreams. (Acts 2:17). In one of these dreams I was given a new vantage point. This allowed me to see God and His WORD at work. I was shown why God's WORD must have oneness with His chosen people, the body of Christ.
My dream started with JoAnn and me inside a church building, one that I did not know, with people whom I did not know. We were waiting for service to start, but the pastor did not come. I was asked to speak in his stead. Without answering, I moved to the platform, but I did not have a Bible. I could think of only one Bible passage, John 1:1-3. I began to quote, In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him, and without Him was not any thing made that was made. Immediately I was in Heaven, even by the throne of God. The dream continued as a vivid and majestic experience. Therefore, I can only try to describe some of what I saw.
I was standing on the left side of the Father's throne, but positioned so that I could not see His face. On a throne, to the right of the Father, was His Son, "The WORD." The Holy Spirit was with us, yet at the same time He was on earth. I could see the past and present taking place. It was as if everything was happening at the same time. I could even see the beginning as recorded in Genesis, Chapter One. I knew without hearing that the Father's thoughts, the Son's word and the Holy Spirit's performance of the word were simultaneous.
After I observed the acts of God I was returned to the unknown church in my dream. I was well aware that God did not want me or anyone else to speak for Him. We are to be vessels of the Spirit, speaking under the unction of the Holy One. (John 2:20). When this takes place we are in accord with God's thoughts and words. (See John, Chapter 17). As one with God we will see great things happen before us. From the beginning God has not changed His program. Nothing happens without the spoken word. By the Holy Spirit He spoke through prophets of old. By the Holy Spirit He spoke through the apostles of the early church. He continued His program as He spoke through men like Paul and Steven. Therefore, we can expect Him to speak, by the Holy Spirit, through us. (See 1 Cor. 12; John 6:63; John 3:34).
According to the record, things happen when God speaks through people. Multitudes accept Jesus as their Savior; captives are set free; people are healed from diseases; even blind eyes and deaf ears are opened. However, for this work God uses willing vessels only, those emptied of self, those focused on Him and not on the world, those who are not lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God. (See I Tim 3:4). The Spirit works through men and women who are not afraid of what will be said about them. These are people who will fast, pray and spend time in His word. These are givers, not takers. These are humble servants not proud developers of great programs. In essence, God merely wants you.
We are living in a time like never before. Youths are being taken by the devil. Families are being destroyed. This past week I ministered to a fourteen year old boy in another state. He was doing drugs, even crack. His mother had killed herself in a crack house and his father was living in one. We cannot solve these problems in traditional ways. Psychology, theology and programs are not the answer. This is failing. The Church is falling further behind. Changes must take place. We must focus on the original program, the Holy Spirit speaking through children of God.
Percentage wise, few people are in church, world conditions are bad, violence is everywhere and people are dieing without God, but I have good news. As people become more rebellious, God will make a great move to save them. For this cause we must prepare ourselves. We must be ready for Him to speak through us. There is no other way! Don't get left out of the excitement of being in unity with God. He is doing great things, even things which we call miracles. Be ready vessel.
JoAnn is one month past her last chemotherapy treatment, and she is well. She still fatigues easily, but as soon as the medication clears her system, she will be fine. She is just so excited about what God is teaching Her. I thank God for a wife whose name means "gift from God." She is that gift.
We Love You; You Are Special.
