About our new logo: It is taken from 1 John 5:7-8; For there are three that bear record in heaven, the father, the Word (Jesus), and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. They are represented by three legs of a triangle pointing toward heaven. The base line represents the Holy Ghost. And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one. This is represented by the three legs of a second triangle; this one points downward to earth. Again the Holy Ghost is represented by the base line. Within these triangles we find the fullness of the Godhead, the knowledge of God in heaven and on earth; therefore, we have placed K.O.J. representing all knowledge of Jesus in the center of these triangles.
We all need to become more like Jesus: However, often affairs of this world, that which we consider to be simple, can preclude God's perfect will for us. Paul said, I BESEECH you, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed be the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (Romans 12:1-2).
Because of the above, the LORD has put it on my heart to write about intolerance. This can come under the label of bigotry, fanaticism, narrow-mindedness, prejudice, impatience, uncharitability, lack of sympathy or dogmatism. When we suffer any of these things, we can ignore them, or we can face them head-on. God would have us deal with it immediately as intolerance will harm the one who is intolerant.
I am having to deal with intolerance concerning poor drivers, those who do stupid things. I will give you an example of how bad this has gotten. When more than one car arrives at a four way stop at the same time, the car on the right has the right of way. It irritates me when this happens and someone to my right, trying to be courteous, sits there and motions me on. I must admit that my intolerance produces anger, UUG. This is the opposite of a merry heart. (See Prov. 15:13 &;17:22). If allowed to continue, anger can cause sickness. From Paul's writings, I recognize that this is not caused by me in sin; it is caused by sin that dwelleth in me. (See Romans 7:14-25). Even so, it keeps me from being all that God intended for me to be. Therefore, I set my will to be free from anything that infuriates me, and I ask God to free me from all intolerance.
Today, many people are suffering from problems such as mine. Consider the following. It is obvious that people of different races are often prejudice. It is also obvious that people of different church doctrines become intolerant of one another. In addition to this, I see people who have various excuses for hating other people. Now we come to the absurd part. I know people who are intolerant with everyone else who shows intolerance.
We must face the fact that pride is the cause of all intolerance, and the dragon, that old serpent (leviathan), which is called the Devil, is the father of all the children of pride. (See Rev. 20:1 &;Job 41:34). We, therefore, need to evaluate ourselves daily. If we are mindful of our spiritual condition we too can become self righteous and think more highly of ourselves than we should. Paul said, For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man a measure of faith. (Romans 12:3). Paul was telling Gentiles not to boast in their knowledge of Jesus while Jews were blinded to the Gospel. He knew that Gentiles did not know the rest of the story. (Re: Romans Chapter 11).
I mentioned in our July letter that I desired to minister via. the Internet-World Wide Web in order to reach millions of people. I have since attended a work-shop at University of Southern Mississippi entitled Providing On-Line Information. However, there will be more work-shops and more study before we can start this service. Thank you for praying for the future of this ministry. I also thank you for praying for Robin Walters. She is still improving.
