You may have noticed that we have a new logo on our letterhead, the Star of David with K O J inserted. There is a definite reason why I thought to use this. It is taken from the book of First John.
This is he who came by water and blood--Jesus Christ; not only by water, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who bears witness, because the Spirit is truth. For there are three who bear record in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit: and these three are one. And there are three that bear witness on earth: the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and these three agree as one. (1 John 5:6-8 N.K.J.)
Now look at the logo. Notice that it is made of two triangles. Focus on the triangle which points upward. To us its three legs represent the Father, the Word and the Holy Spirit. Together, as one, this represents the record in heaven. Now focus on the triangle which points downward. To us these three legs represent the Spirit, the water and the blood; together they represent the witness on earth. We desire to be in the center of what God has for us to do; therefore, K.O.J. is in the center of the star. Every time you see our logo, think about this scripture, and remember that the proper place to be is in the center of God's will.
God never changes (Malachi 3:6); therefore, His word never changes. If we completely rely on His word, we are in harmony with Him; we can accomplish the impossible with ease. However, when His word does not fit into our logic, we tend to follow perverted thinking. This alters God's schedule for us. The children of Israel, our example, spent forty years in the wilderness on a substitute agenda because they followed logic. At the end of forty years they crossed the Jordan, near Jericho, and again they followed logic. God had said, ... thou shall drive them [all of the inhabitants] out before you. Thou shalt make no covenants with them, ... (Exodus 23:21-32). Covenants were made and many of the inhabitants stayed.
Skeptical people continue to rely on their logic instead of God's word. The offspring of the original inhabitants of Israel's promised land and the children of Israel are again making covenants. On September 13, 1993, Israel's Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin signed an agreement with the P.L.O., saying, "We are swapping land for peace." He has given Israel's enemies the Gaza Strip, the Golan Heights and the first city God gave to the Jews, Jericho. Peace cannot come from Rabin's act; it is in disobedience to God's instructions to the offspring of Israel.
The January 20, 1995 issue of the Jewish Press carried a front page story headlined, "EGYPT WARNS OF WAR WITH ISRAEL." This was followed by, "Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak's top political adviser, Osama el Baz, declared last Friday that Arab countries have to be prepared for another war with Israel." Former Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Shamir, an opponent to Rabin, headlined his article with, "The Arabs Are Beginning To Smell Blood." Yasir Arafat of the P.L.O. has said, "Our capitol will be in Jerusalem."
If the Jews had only followed God's instructions, Eretz Yisrael (the Land of Israel) could have easily been expanded, at the proper time, to fit the increasing real estate needs of Am Yisrael (the people of Israel). When God says go and do, it requires little effort on man's part to complete the Job; even against all odds God performs His word for an obedient people. Fear and unbelief have put Israel in a bad position. The country and the people will survive, but in great conflict. If we keep an eye on this example we should be more aware of our need to follow the LORD's instructions for our lives and expect to accomplish the impossible.
Spending time in prayer, fasting and reading God's word will cause His will to become our will. As we set our hearts on things above, the things of this earth fall into place. No matter what is going on around us, or with us, we can learn to be content. (See Philippians 4:11).
Last month, I told how our monthly letters have become a continuing ministry. We have received many reports that they are being copied and mailed to people not on our mailing list. This has my approval; keep up the good work! These letters belong to the LORD, not me.
