We rejoice because of another good month. God continues to open doors for us. On April 5-8, we were in Memphis, Tennessee. While there, JoAnn and I met a number of new friends, and for the first time, we beheld the faces of friends that had previously been telephone voices. We thank God for all of our friends. You are special!
Our prime reason for being in Memphis was to attended The Fifteenth Annual Christian Prayer Breakfast, and Destiny Decision Days, events that began on Monday, April 7th. However, we got a bonus! On Saturday, April 5, we attended an evening prayer service at the Cathedral of Praise. Afterwards, our son Nick arrived from Little Rock, Arkansas. Like all loving parents we were glad to see him. On Sunday, we all attended the same church and afterwards met with Nick's soon-to-be bride to celebrate the day, his birthday.
Late Sunday evening Nick left, and David and Terry arrived from Hattiesburg. They are the editor and artist God has given to work on Letter to Israel. With them, I went back to the Cathedral of Praise. At the close of the service, a great anointing of the Holy Spirit came over me. Something big is about to happen in that church.
A GREAT WAY TO BE BLESSED: At 7:30 on Monday morning the prayer breakfast got under way. The prime purpose of this meeting was to pray for the peace of Jerusalem (Re: Psalms 122:6.). I cannot properly describe this meeting; however, one thing must be told.
As part of the program, beautiful banners were brought into the Hotel's great dining room. An orchestra played as the choir sang praises to God. One by one the banners came. Each represented one of the twelve tribes of Israel and one represented Eretz Yisrael (the land of Israel). As they were paraded people spontaneously began to pray and praise God. Tears of joy came into my eyes. I looked around and saw many of the 2,500 people weeping with me. Assuredly, there was an anointing of the Holy Spirit in that place.
Some people ask, "Why pray for peace in a part of the world where people have always been fighting?" The answer is simple! Through King David God requesting this kind of prayer and one cannot pray for peace without praying for the works of Jesus, the "King of Peace." Such a prayer also brings a blessing upon those who pray it. Carefully read Psalms 122:6-7. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem; "May those who love you prosper. May there be peace inside your walls and prosperity in your palaces."
The last verse came from a new Bible, under the title, Gods Word: Today's Bible translation that says what it means. To my new friend that gave me this Bible, Thank you!
JUST UNDERSTANDING: While in church on April 6th, the LORD spoke to me, saying, "Write and give a note to the young lady next to you." Then I heard a wonderful, short message.
Without tribulations there would be no deliverance. Without sickness there would be no healing and without need there would be no miracles.
I suddenly understood why many people, apparently without cause, run into trouble. Remember Job? Because of tribulations, sickness and need he came into a closer relationship with God. The LORD has not changed. We too achieve a closer relationship with Jesus through these things. He said, "When you see me you see my Father also." Without the three negatives we could not fully understand or appreciate the Father's positive nature, His grace and love.
I handed the note to the young woman. She read it, broke into a smile and tears came to her eyes. God was allowing her to understand the reasons why something had happened, or was happening, in her life. I hope that you too will rejoice over this simple message.
While we were in Memphis our web server closed their doors. This caused our computer connection with the "World Wide Web" to be interrupted. However, we have reconnected through another server. Our newsletters and other data should be available again by the time that you get this letter. Because we maintain a "Domain" site our address, http://www.knowledgeofjesus.org will remain the same, and the K.O.J. e-mail address will still be, koj@knowledgeofjesus.org.
In God's Love,
