GOOD NEWS

Spring is so beautiful when the leaves began to show and the flowers bloom, and it is just such a time in the deep South. This is a reminder that we too can bloom in the Spirit of the Lord. I believe that this is a time of refreshing to those that rest in Him. "For we which have believed do enter into rest . . . ." (Hebrews 4:3) But, what about the flesh of the believer? Except for our submission, isn’t it always in opposition to the Holy Spirit? Does God often see us as unbelieving believers? He probably does if we believe for salvation, but attempt to make all other events in life go our way.

We do, by the power of the Holy Spirit, have authority over our flesh and are able to surrender to God’s program for us. Doing this may be hard, but it is better than the wilderness, a place where we go when we are strong-headed against changes taking place in our lives. A pattern for this can be seen in the story of God and the children of Israel.

God’s complete program for us is not known by us. His will does not usually agree with our will. So, if we knew the entire program for our lives we would probably really mess it up. The Apostle Paul said, "And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose." (Romans 8:27-28) Here is the key to rest and refreshing: that all things work together for good and the end result is His purpose. Everything He does is good for us as we mature in the Kingdom of God.

I just returned from a three-day Ministers’ Conference in Panama City, Florida. Before the conference, I did not know but a few of the men in attendance because they came from many parts of the Unites States. However, I soon found that we were of one spirit, the spirit of God’s love. As we sat at a large U-shaped table these men told of the things God is revealing to them. It was a good time of praying for many things and for each other.

In the February newsletter I told that some new things were taking place in this ministry. It is time to tell about a new Mississippi nonprofit corporation, "Lott’s Cattle, Inc." Clyde Lott, president of this corporation, asked if I would serve as vice president and asked Jan Meador of Laurel, Mississippi, to serve as secretary/treasurer. We agreed because God has given both of us a heart for the people of Israel. The purpose of the new corporation is to breed, purchase and ship red cattle to Israel, and send with them men and women who will set up Old and New Testament study programs. Clyde has been working on this great undertaking for about ten years. During this time, I was not an actual part of his work, but have quietly been helping him, and through "Knowledge of Jesus" have given additional support. I will tell more about this in another letter.

This will not change anything in Knowledge of Jesus ministries. It only adds to what we have already done. I am convinced that I am in the center of what God has called me to do. I have previously told about the book, "Letter to Israel." After more than twenty years of work it is now finished, and at the proper time. We believe that this and the cattle program tie together. In fact, when the first cattle arrive in Israel it could catapult "Letter to Israel" into public view. Think about this and pray for us. Also, "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem," I will keep you posted on all the work of this ministry.

Did you ever consider doing something and later found that Jesus was behind your idea? This is what happened when I ordered a new kind of credit card. At the top of this card, where you usually find a bank’s name, it is imprinted with Knowledge of Jesus. A couple of weeks ago, I started using the Knowledge of Jesus card and people started asking questions about the unusual heading. Already two people, at their work place, have come to know Jesus as their personal savior. The witnessing power of this card has caused me to try and make it available to every Christian. So, I expect that you will soon hear more about this new kind of credit card.

Thank you for your prayers and support. As this ministry moves forward we will need your help more than ever before.
